I have completed another lens in the series I have started in order to promote the lenses in the Shopping for Video Games Group. Shopping for Video Games HQ
I feel such relief that the groups have been converted. I will miss some features of the groups in their old format. I liked being able to see the lensmasters that had lenses in the group and liked being able to filter the lenses to see which ones need a little extra promotion.
It was a chore going through everything and fixing it up like I wanted it, but I did finally get it done to my liking. I ousted some lenses and added some others.
I have the lenses in the group listed in the featured lenses module and will of course rotate. If think if I list each lens, it will be too long. This way I also will add a link to the lensographies for that category if they want to see all the lenses for that category. I thought that might peek some interest in the visitors.
By the way. I have a question on the new groups. I was using the rss feature on the old group to automatically broadcast the squidcasts of the lenses in the group. Will that still work? Will the rss on the group lens still have all the lenses or just the groups lens.
Right now I don’t think the rss is working right and I have a feeling it will only show the squidcasts of the groups lens. Well I could add the rss of each lens in the group to one big rss and promote that.

Well, I finished the Wii games lensography. Shopping for Nintendo Wii Games was finished a few weeks ago, but have been so busy that I forgot to post about it. I think it turned out to be one of my better lenses.
It has gotten some traffic, but not as much as I had hoped. Please take a look and let me know where I can improve and don’t forget to share it with everyone you know. A good portion of those folks will more than likely be looking for video games for Christmas.

I finished the lensographies for the Xbox and Xbox 360 lenses in the group. I decided to split them up and make a lens for games and another for accessories.
thefluffanutta suggested that I add amazon modules. I had already thought about that, but didn’t do it. After his suggestion I will go back and do that later when I update. Right now I need to move on the Wii lenses.

Shopping For XBox and XBox 360 Games is the first lens in the series of lenses I plan on creating to promote the lenses in our little group.
If you go take a look, you will notice that there aren’t that many of them. We can use some more lenses on this platform. I will try to get the word out about Shopping for Video Games Group and see what I can do about that.
I am off work next week so I will have time to create the rest of the lensographies. I will post them here when I am done so you can take a look.
Do you have any suggestions for improving the lens or any other ideas for promoting the members and lenses in the group?

While we have all been waiting for Squidoo HQ to come up with their brilliant new idea for groups and I couldn’t edit the Shopping for Video Games Group, I came up with what I hope is my own brilliant idea.
I am going to create lensogrophies of the lenses in the group. I will do one for each platform and then one for those that aren’t for a specific platform. Then after I have those all finished I will create one last lensography listing each of the lensographies.
I am hoping to do several things with this project of mine. My main goal is to drive traffic to the lenses featured in these lensographies and help out the lensmasters in my group. My secondary goal is to be able to keep better track of the lenses in the group to better promote them.
What ideas do you have for promoting lenses and groups?

Like all the rest of you I am sick and tired of waiting to see what Squidoo HQ is going to come up with for groups. I have a feeling though that they are not saying anything about what’s going on just to make it a great big surprise. At least I hope that’s it.
I read a reply in SquidU in the groups discussion I think some of you may find interesting. I know I did! Hopefully the wait may not last much longer. I feel like the kid waiting for Christmas and am told Christmas Eve there is no Santa.

I just wanted to let you know that I did not forget about the group. I am just unable to edit it. As soon as I can I will add the new lenses and put back the ones that keep disappearing.
I am also thinking about doing a lensography or two or three for the lenses in the group. Does anyone have ideas for categories I should group them together as?
